Bipasha Maity is an Associate Professor of Economics at Ashoka University. Her research areas include development economics, gender and family economics, and applied econometrics. Through her research, she explores the roles of institutions, public policy, and environmental shocks in shaping decision-making within households. These include consumption and time allocation, as well as marriage, health, and educational outcomes of household members. Her recent research also examines how women’s representation in public office influences environmental conservation in India. She received her PhD in Economics from the University of British Columbia in 2016.
