Deep Kalra is the founder and group CEO of India’s leading online travel company, MakeMyTrip. He has steered MakeMyTrip as CEO since its inception in 2000, to a successful listing on NASDAQ in 2010.
Deep is on the board of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) Delhi chapter and served as president from 2013 to 2016. He is a founding member of IndiaTech.Org, an association representing interests of Indian companies in the country’s fast-growing internet sector. He is also a founding member of ‘I am Gurgaon’, a non-profit focused on improving the quality of life in Gurgaon. Deep is passionate about environmental sustainability; he has been championing this cause via the MakeMyTrip Foundation.
Deep was named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2011 for business transformation by Ernst & Young. He has also been recognised as the most powerful digital influencer in India by KPMG in 2012. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
