Deepa Bhatnagar is founder Director of Ashoka Archives of Contemporary India at Ashoka University set up for archiving and preserving primary source material for the study of modern and contemporary history of India.
Deepa has more than three decades of experience as an archivist of modern Indian history. She was formerly Head of Research & Publications and NMML Archives at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, Teen Murti House, New Delhi. A post graduate in Modern Indian History from the University of Allahabad, she taught history at the university and later at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi before joining the research and publications department of NMML. She spearheaded the selected works project of Motilal Nehru, Jayaprakash Narayan and Acharya Narendra Deva at NMML and co-edited the first three volumes of the Selected Works of C.Rajagopalachari.
