Dr. Pratyush Pranav

Associate Professor, Bennett University and Faculty Fellow at KCDH-A

Dr. Pranav obtained a BSc (H) in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, and an MS (Int PhD) in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. Subsequently, he obtained a PhD in applied and computational topology from the University of Groningen, where he was jointly hosted by the Johan Bernoulli Institute of Maths and Computer Science, as well as the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute. After PhD, he worked as a research associate at Technion (Israel), ENS de Lyon (France) and the University of Luxembourg. His research interests carve a cross-disciplinary data-centric landscape involving applied mathematics, cosmology, and most recently biological systems. On the side of cosmology, he is interested in understanding the formation and evolution of structure in the Universe, as well as testing the fundamental tenets of the cosmological principle. On the side of applied mathematics, he is interested in integral and computational geometry, as well as applied and computational topology at the level of homology and persistent homology. Most recently, he has started investigating the organization of biological systems through the lens of geometry and topology.
