Geeta Trilok Kumar

Geeta Trilok-Kumar

Ph.D. AIIMS and Delhi University

Geeta Trilok-Kumar did a joint PhD from AIIMS  and Delhi University in 2002. Subsequently, she went to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for her Post-doctoral work on a Commonwealth Fellowship. She currently holds the prestigious Wellcome Trust-DBT Senior Fellowship in Public Health and is a Fellow of the Delhi School of Public Health, Institute of Eminence, University of Delhi. She also received a ‘Special Appreciation Award’ from Delhi University for her research contribution in 2021.

In her last twenty years, she has received multiple national and international grants. She is the recipient of grants from Medical Research Council, UK; Nutrition Tier Monde, Brussels; Sight and Life, Switzerland; UGC-UKIERI thematic partnership from British Council, UK; UGC-New Zealand Research Council grant, as well as large grants from Indian funders like DBT, ICMR, to name a few. She currently has grants from Wellcomtrust-DBT and Medical Research Council, UK as well as a large grant from DBT. Her work has been published in prestigious scientific high impact journals like British Medical Journal and Lancet Endocrinology. Prof Geeta Trilok-Kumar was the Director of Institute of Home Economics until November 2022. She has served and continues being a member of several Task forces, project review boards Scientific Advisory Committees, Governing bodies and other committees of government of India.
