Harit Talwar

Harit Talwar is a partner at Goldman Sachs and chairman of the firm’s global consumer business, including Marcus by Goldman Sachs and its partnerships with Apple, Amazon, Walmart, JetBlue, and General Motors.

From running large businesses to building and scaling start-ups, to overseeing transformational M&A, Harit has a wide range of experience. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2015, he served as president of US Cards and chief marketing officer at Discover Financial Services (DFS). He has previously worked at Morgan Stanley and Citibank as well. Harit also served on the boards of Morgan Stanley Bank Internation Ltd and Morgan Stanley International Ltd in London.

Passionate about philanthropy and addressing inequalities, he serves as co-chairman of the board of the American India Foundation. He is also a member of the Asia Society Global Board of Trustees. He has previously held leadership positions with the Museum of Science and Industry, the Chicago CMO Summit, the American School of Warsaw, Children’s Memorial Hospital, and Pratham, UK.

Harit was named one of American Banker’s 10 to Watch, an Outstanding Asian American in Business, and an Outstanding Alumni of Shri Ram College of Commerce. He has been featured in Wall Street JournalThe New York TimesFortuneForbes, and has spoken at various industry forums and leading business schools.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
