Ibtesam pursued a triple major course in Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She has a keen interest in painting, photography, and calligraphy. She appreciates the value of freedom and perceives it as an essential element of the growth of an individual and society. Freedom brings choices which are the essence of human development. During her graduation when she was flooded with opportunities and exposure which she never witnessed before, it was the freedom that played the role of breaking down the chain of isolation and pushed her to indulge herself in an association consisting of diverse minds and gender. The Young India Fellowship will open the door to her desired world where she is keen to learn who to choose among choices. In her words, “If you want insights into my facets of personality, you will have to take a look at my bookshelf”. An avid reader exploring her religious identity, Ibtesam’s favourite authors are Virginia Woolf and Khaled Hosseini. She believes in growing as a contented individual and along the way, through her work, she wants to aspire to bring freedom into the lives of those who need it the most.
