Jishnu Borgohain

Ph.D. in Environmental Studies, Ashoka University

Jishnu completed his M.Sc degree in Environmental Science from Pondicherry University. Prior to joining Ashoka for PhD, Jishnu worked with an NGO in Assam. He also conducted field work in different parts of Meghalaya for understanding the calling patterns of Bushcrickets.

Working at the intersection of palaeo-ecology, environmental anthropology, and archaeology, Jishnu’s research interests lie in understanding the vegetation history of the Central Indian landscape across the Holocene time period to the present, primarily focusing on the state of Madhya Pradesh. In his spare time, he enjoys street photography, music, and traveling.
