Kandaswamy Subramanian

Visiting Professor of Astrophysics, Ashoka University

Kandaswamy Subramanian was a postdoc at Cambridge and Sussex in the UK before becoming a faculty member at NCRA-TIFR and then at IUCAA, Pune. He is now an emeritus Professor at IUCAA after retiring as a Distinguished Professor and Dean of Visitor Academic Programmes. His research encompasses a wide spectrum of astrophysics, particularly cosmic magnetism and structure formation in the universe.

He has received the B. M. Birla Science Prize in Physics, and the Humboldt Research Award and is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences and the Indian National Science Academy.
