Kanika Singh

Kanika Singh is the Director, Centre for Writing & Communication at Ashoka University. Her work at the Centre focuses on teaching and designing learning material for developing critical thinking, writing and communication skills.

She is a historian, working in the domain of public history, museums and heritage. Her current research focuses on Sikh museums in contemporary India. Kanika Singh is the founder of Delhi Heritage Walks, a group involved in leading heritage walks, designing walking trails, and training volunteers and professionals in the field of cultural heritage.

Her research interests include writing pedagogy, and the history of Punjab and Delhi. At Ashoka, she teaches courses on museums in South Asia, Delhi’s heritage, visual culture and research writing. She has previously taught at the National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, Ambedkar University Delhi, CEPT University Ahmedabad, IGNOU and the Indian Institute of Tourism and the Travel Management NOIDA.
