Kaushalendra Kishore is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Ashoka University. His primary research interests include banking, corporate finance, financial crisis and contract theory. As part of his current research agenda on banking and financial crisis, he is working on questions that try to understand why financial institutions take excessive risk and how regulation can play a role in mitigating it.
He obtained his PhD in Finance from Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He completed his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and obtained an M.Phil in Economics from IGIDR, Mumbai. Previously, he has worked at CAFRAL as Research Director and at Ahmedabad University as Assistant Professor. He has also been a visiting faculty at the Indian School of Business.
