Lieutenant General Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar (retd), PVSM, AVSM, VSM, is a retired General Officer in the Indian Army and the third woman to achieve a Three-star rank. Noteworthy for her service as Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Medical), Dr. Kanitkar is a prominent figure on the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council. Having served in the Army Medical Corps since 1982, Dr. Kanitkar is an accomplished Pediatrician with a specialization in Pediatric Nephrology. She has held key academic positions, including Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. After retiring from the Armed Forces, Gen Kanitkar has taken over as the Vice-Chancellor of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, where she has introduced digital health into the medical curriculum.
