With a career spanning over 35 years, Dr. Singh has dedicated herself to academics, research, and educational administration. Her motivation stems from a desire to create positive changes within higher education, empowering both learners and institutions. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Environmentalist of the Year Award in 2004 for her significant contributions to the field of Environmental Science.
Dr. Manju Singh served as Joint Secretary of the University Grants Commission (UGC), and during her time there, she was responsible for overseeing a range of departments, including internationalization, skill education, accreditation, university education, research, curricular reforms, gender and social equity, and teacher capacity building. Dr. Singh also played a key role in implementing the National Education Policy, 2020.
Among her various other roles, Dr. Singh served as Regional Head of UGC’s Southwest Regional Office, Bangalore, and as Director of the Policy Bureau at All India Council for Technical Education, Delhi. She focused on improving college education in Karnataka and Kerala and expanding technical education in India.
Dr. Singh is highly regarded for her proficiency in creating evidence-based frameworks, regulations, guidelines, and institutional development plans that have helped shape the higher education sector. She has represented India in various bilateral and multilateral forums, including UNESCO, BRICS, SCO, ASEM, and joint working groups with countries such as the US, UK, Australia, Norway, Germany, France, and Israel.
Dr. Singh’s personal interests include travelling and connecting with people from different backgrounds. She is known for her ability to gracefully balance her personal and professional life, making her a valuable asset to any organization.
