Prof. Mukesh Sud has over three decades of professional experience divided equally between entrepreneurship and academia. After graduating from the Indian Institution of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Prof. Sud was an entrepreneur. He established a number of small-scale industries involved in job work of abrasive blasting and sprayed metal/plasma coatings. In 2000, after exiting the businesses he completed a doctoral program at IIM Bangalore. Prof. Sud began his academic career in 2006 at Augustana College IL. Three years later he moved to the Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University, CT where he was an Associate Professor with tenure. After 9 years in the US, Prof. Sud joined the Business Policy Area at IIM Ahmedabad. His research is focused on entrepreneurship at the individual, firm, and societal levels. He has several publications in FT50 journals. Recently his research has been around institutional theory, the paradox of embedded agency, and the actions of entrepreneurs in complex and pluralistic institutional environments.
