Mukul believes that to make a positive and lasting impact on the world around us, it is essential to understand it. Born and brought up in a small town in Uttarakhand Himalayas, he found conventional academic approaches to knowledge inefficient and often inadequate, which is why he chose to opt for an Interdisciplinary Master’s Degree in Development Studies after his undergraduate degree. He is very interested in socio-political theories and enjoys studying great thinkers, ideas and theories. His creative quests are diverse, ranging from street theatre and political activism to poetry and world cinema. He loves to discuss and learn about ideas, philosophy and politics. Mukul sees the fellowship as a continuation of his journey of learning, exploring and making an informed and nuanced view of the state of the world. He has an interest in research and wishes to do a PhD in the future.
