Papri Banerjee

Papri Banerjee, as Deputy Director, is currently heading the Research Administration at the Trivedi School of Biosciences, Ashoka University. She works closely with various academic leadership teams at Ashoka University, setting up crucial liaisons between various offices, academic departments and centres. She is actively involved in facilitating research & laboratory management and faculty recruitment; forging collaborative research activities; aiding in the establishment of new centres, research programs and facilities; budget allocations for research activities and managing all the safety or regulatory committees pertaining to biology research. Besides, she also regularly interacts with the biology faculty members to help them in the strategic planning of their respective aims and providing solutions to various requirements.

She completed her PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Wake Forest University, USA and then went on for Post-doctoral research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA. Following her PhD and Postdoctoral research, she joined the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) at NCBS, Bangalore as a Program & Business Development Manager where she was managing the Next Generation Genomics Facility (NGGF) and Bio-Innovation & Entrepreneurship division of C-CAMP. Before joining Ashoka, she also worked as the Assistant Director (Innovation) at the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) for Science & Technology at New Delhi where she was leading various flagship initiatives of Govt. of India, including various National and International level of Scientific & Technology Hackathons like Smart India Hackathon (SIH), Singapore-India Hackathon, ASEAN-India Hackathon, Toy Hackathon etc. to mention a few.
