Hailing from Thiruchendur in Tamil Nadu, Pavithra identifies herself as a sweet-tooth sudoku solver who has completed her master’s degree in Mathematics. What attracted her to the Young India Fellowship (YIF) is its multidisciplinary approach and the diverse cohort, with which she looks forward to make memories. She aims to become a civil servant and hopes the learnings from Ashoka help her achieve that. She is fascinated by mathematics and wants to use this and her knowledge to help people. She has utmost patience and loves hand embroidery, handicrafts and teaching friends the same. From reading about science facts, archaeological pieces, to articles on civilisations, Pavithra is a bookworm and enjoys listening to music when not reading. Apart from this, she also enjoys conversations about real-life situations and issues. She is a go-to person to know about Tamil culture and Tamil Nadu. Some of her best memories include being part of plays in school and college. She is looking forward to making friends across the country and grabbing the opportunities that come her way. Armed with mother’s saree, father’s shirt, and a traditional lamp, this young lady is all set to venture outside Tamil Nadu for the first time in her life!
