Facility In-charge – Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM)
Junior Scientific Officer
Department of Chemistry, Ashoka University
Peeyush Choudhary is a Junior Scientific Officer in the Department of Chemistry at Ashoka University with nearly seven years of experience in advanced materials characterization, electron microscopy, and analytical sciences. He is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of the Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) facility, supporting interdisciplinary research through high quality imaging, microstructural characterization, and elemental analysis.
He holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry (Polymer Science & Chemical Technology) from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. His technical expertise includes Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), ICP-OES, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), BET Surface Area Analysis, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and UV-Visible Spectroscopy. His research interests encompass electron microscopy, nanomaterials, advanced functional materials, surface characterization, and structure–property relationships.
At Ashoka University, he provides analytical and technical support to faculty members, researchers, students, and external users, conducts user training on FE-SEM and EDS techniques, assists in experimental design and data interpretation, and ensures the reliable operation and maintenance of the microscopy facility. He also coordinates instrument calibration, troubleshooting, procurement of laboratory consumables, and implementation of best laboratory practices to maintain high standards of research support.
Prior to joining Ashoka University, he worked as a Project Scientist at IIT Delhi, a Chemist at the IOCL Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex, and a Project Assistant at the IOCL Research & Development Centre, Faridabad. These positions provided extensive experience in advanced analytical instrumentation, nanomaterials characterization, industrial quality control, and environmental analysis. Through his expertise and collaborative approach, he is committed to enabling high-quality research and advancing the effective use of state-of-the-art materials characterization facilities.
