Pinak Banik

Pinak Banik’s research interest lies in the critical understanding of the dynamics of power and exclusion within the cultural politics of modern Indian art, located in the disciplinary networks of institution-exhibition-publication, which governed the discourses of visual arts from colonial modernity to its post-colonial turn. Pinak has received his master’s degree in Visual arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU, Baroda in 2012. He completed BFA from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. Besides being a researcher, Pinak is a practicing artist and art educator. He has previously taught in Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
