Prachi Mishra

Professor Mishra joined Ashoka University in August 2024 as Professor of Economics. She previously served as Chief of the Systemic Issues Division and Advisor in the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund, with multiple roles across IMF departments in Washington. Between 2018 and 2020, she was Managing Director, Global Macro Research, and India Chief Economist at Goldman Sachs. She has also held senior positions at the Reserve Bank of India, India’s Ministry of Finance, and the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. Professor Misra has served on several national committees and boards, including CAFRAL, the Fifteenth Finance Commission’s External Advisory Council, and the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Review Committee. Her research interests span international economics, macroeconomics, and the Indian economy and financial markets.
