Pranshu Rathee

Pranshu Rathee has been working as a reporter and sub-editor since completing his post-graduate diploma in journalism from Asian College of Journalism, Chennai in 2016. After a year with Newsweek Group’s International Business Times in 2017, he worked with Deccan Herald for three years after which he explored some freelance work with Citizen Matters. As a media professional, he has reported for different beats across formats and mediums in several organisations.

Originally from Gurgaon, he completed his undergraduate studies in history from Ramjas College in Delhi University and completed his schooling from the Shri Ram School Moulsari in 2011. During college and school, he was active in competitive debating and basketball and won several awards and competitions in these activities. During college, he also interned with Newsclick and assisted documentary filmmaker Nakul Singh Sawhney on his film ‘Muzaffarnagar Baaqi Hai’.

He also interned at AIIMS psychiatry department during school and has volunteered for social sector initiatives such as ‘The Family India’, Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) and Project Why. With the Young India Fellowship, he is hoping to expand his knowledge of different disciplines to enhance his storytelling abilities.
