Pritika Gupta

Deputy Manager, Office of Learning Support,
Ashoka University

MA in Social Work, specialising in Disability Studies and Action, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai

Pritika Gupta is the Assistant Manager, Office of Learning Support at Ashoka University. Her work at the OLS is directed towards building an inclusive space for the diverse student community at Ashoka, and this involves facilitating, coordinating, managing and leading the office’s initiatives.

She has been involved with several organisations working in the disability sector in different parts of India, which made her aware of how disability intersects with other social factors to amplify inequalities. Within the field of disability, she is keenly interested in its interactions with education, performing arts and gender. To this end, she conducted a study on the lived experiences of dancers with disabilities in India for her graduate thesis.

She firmly believes that inclusion and accessibility should be the foundation of any project, instead of being afterthoughts. According to her, all individuals have distinctive capacities. Once the education system starts focusing on these strengths and works on eliminating its own systemic barriers for students with disabilities, every learner can thrive.

Before joining the OLS, she completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from Ashoka University. She then graduated with an MA in Social Work, specialising in Disability Studies and Action from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in 2021.
