Masters (M.Sc) in Biology (Applied Genomics), Ashoka UniversityPundalik holds a M.Sc in Biology with a specialisation in Applied Genomics from Ashoka University, where his thesis research focused on “Gut Microbiome Dysbiosis in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).” During his academic journey, he explored “Modern Genomics Approaches in Medicine and Public Health” and worked on interdisciplinary research alongside clinicians, bioinformaticians, and molecular biologists. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree B.Sc in Biotechnology from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Maharashtra, where he conducted research on “Impact of Antibiotics on Microbial Dynamics and Interactions.”
Driven by his curiosity for academic research administration and a desire to ensure smooth research operations in laboratory settings, Pundalik joined as an Intern at the Research and Development Office (RDO) at Ashoka University, where his work involved database management and administration, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility to support informed decision-making and innovation.
Currently, as a Junior Lab Assistant in the Environmental Studies Department, Pundalik plays a multifaceted role that blends field sampling, laboratory experimentation, and administrative coordination to support ongoing research projects and ensure the smooth functioning of academic and research activities.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Pundalik enjoys cooking, exploring global cuisine, travelling, playing badminton, practising yoga, and listening to music.
