Radhika Joshi

YIF Class of 2021

B.A. (Honours) Sociology
Sophia College for Women, University of Mumbai

Growing up in the valley of Dehradun, Radhika has always been curious about societal norms and challenges. This encouraged her to pursue a degree in social sciences. She has volunteered for several social causes like mental health, education and women empowerment. At the age of 18, Radhika founded The Second Chance Project – a youth-led social initiative to raise awareness about organ donation in India. She is a YES Foundation Media For Social Change Fellow, Youth Ki Awaaz Action Fellow, and has been a part of national-level conferences on organ donation. She has also been recognised as an Ashoka Young Changemaker by the Ashoka Innovators For the Public (headed by Bill Drayton). At the Fellowship, Radhika hopes to learn from the lived experiences of other fellows and equip herself with theoretical knowledge that could help her find practical solutions to real-world problems. Radhika is a firm believer in young people being the leaders of today! Radhika loves to spend her time reading, practicing yoga and gardening.
