Rakesh is based in New Delhi, focusing on policy advocacy and government engagement. Prior to Carlyle, he led Public and Government Affairs for Bayer Crop Science in Asia-Pacific, building strategic partnerships on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable growth models for small-holder farmers, and earlier led Policy and Government Affairs for Monsanto in India. He has over 25 years of industry experience across stakeholder engagement, R&D strategy and investments, technology commercialisation, and business development. Currently serves as Treasurer of the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI). Holds a bachelor’s and master’s in agriculture from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, India, and an MS in Genetics from Texas A&M University.
