Rishika spent nine years of her formative education in a boarding school that shaped her into valuing independence and diversity. During her senior year at school, she studied economics and realised her love for the subject. Following which she completed her B.Sc. Economics Honours with gold medal distinction in 2018.
With a curiosity to better understand the Indian education space, she joined the Teach for India Fellowship (TFI) right after college. Her teaching experience further ignited a spark of curiosity for philosophical questions on education, society, and pedagogy. She led and organised multiple projects throughout college and TFI Fellowship, developing a strong skillset including teamwork, project management, and curriculum development.
In order to explore her diverse academic interest areas as well as develop her skill set, she decided to join the Young India Fellowship.
She enjoys reading books, critically analysing and intellectualising ideas, especially pertaining to philosophy. Her other hobbies include playing badminton, dancing, writing, and researching. She wishes to continue her academic journey with a combination of economics, philosophy, and psychology. She also hopes to leverage her knowledge and put her skills to use in the social development sector.
