Rizwan Koita is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with a passion to leverage emerging technologies and business process innovation to have meaningful social impact.

He began his career at McKinsey and Co. He left McKinsey in 1999 to cofound Transworks, one of the first BPO firms in India. Transworks was acquired by the Aditya Birla Group in 2003, becoming one of the first successful business exits in the Indian BPO industry.

After Transworks, Rizwan cofounded CitiusTech, which was envisioned as a next-generation healthcare technology company. Under his leadership, CitiusTech has become one of the fastest growing healthcare technology companies. The organisation is recognised for its expertise in next-generation enterprise applications, interoperability, data, analytics and AI/ML. In 2019, CitiusTech became India’s first healthcare technology Unicorn.

Rizwan is also actively associated with multiple social initiatives. His philanthropic venture, Koita Foundation (KF) focuses on two areas – digital health and NGO transformation. Rizwan is also on the board of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and on the advisory board of several NGOs.

Rizwan won the TiE Hall of Fame Award in 2022 and IIT Bombay’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Bombay and a master’s in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT.
