Ruby Gupta has her Masters & Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University. She has been the recipient of CSIR-Junior & Senior Research Fellowships and qualified National Eligibility Test (NET).
Her major focus has been on the assessment of biomarkers for cardio-metabolic disorders, inflammation & nutrition, establishing micro quantitative assays for biomarkers using dried blood spots and assessment of environmental exposures. She has worked on objective measurement of nutritional biomarkers in biological samples for a supplementation trial; as senior scientific advisor for biochemical analysis of pesticides & heavy metals in gall bladder cancer; as an advisor for technical support to National Tobacco Testing Laboratories, WHO, India.
At the Centre for Chronic Disease Control, as Senior Research Scientist & Head-Laboratory, she is managing the operations, maintaining quality control and standardizing newer techniques. She also oversees the biorepository facility which has systematic storage of biological samples generated through epidemiological studies.
