Saishreya Sriram

YIF Class of 2021

B.A. Economics
Jai Hind College, Mumbai

Primarily a resident of Mumbai, with her undergrad college being her 7th educational institution – she perceives herself as a wanderer of different worlds and versions of self – someone who always strives to make the most of every new experience – be it talking to fellow travellers, or just be hungry for more perspectives/places to unravel.

She loves to read, but she probably spends more time reading between the lines. Genres that she particularly bears an affinity for, include – public & foreign policy, behavioural economics, technology, ethics, and philosophy. She is also a major consumer of disturbing documentaries and dystopian fiction – be it through bylines of Margaret Atwood and George Orwell, or just enough trivia of Chinese history and status quo.

One’s definitely likely to run into her at a Literature fest – or probably identify her on social media as that one person who wouldn’t stop unabashedly promoting political satire like Yes Minister and Veep. She looks forward to a year of Renaissance at the Young India Fellowship and firmly believes it’d resemble the richness of reason and humanism of the former.
