Sameer Brij Verma

Sameer is an early-stage venture investor who has partnered with over 80 startups, including 11 unicorns.

He is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Northpoint Capital Management, a $150 million fund dedicated to partnering with visionary entrepreneurs in India and globally. He is also the founder of Breakthrough Capital, a personal investment vehicle focused on equity investments in high-growth startups such as Bira91, Licious, Slice, Chennai Super Kings, Blue Tokai, and more. Additionally, he founded BroadBridge Capital Management, targeting pre-IPO and growth-stage opportunities, investing in prominent companies like NSE, Slice, FiveStar Biz Finance, and Astrotalk.

Previously, Sameer was Managing Director and General Partner at Nexus Venture Partners, where he established and led their Bangalore office. Before joining Nexus, Sameer was a founding team member at Reliance Ventures.

Earlier in his career, Sameer held operational roles at UTStarcom, Ericsson, and American Wireless Broadband, where he served as Product Manager, Solutions Architect, and Network Architect.

Committed to advancing education, Sameer is a founding member of both Ashoka University and Plaksha University—two leading institutions redefining liberal arts and technology education standards in India. He is a Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellow at The Aspen Institute, a Kautilya Fellow, an OnDeck Health Fellow, and serves on the VC Sector Core Council at the Indian Venture Capital Association.

Sameer holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, where he was awarded the International and Founders scholarships.
