Samir Arora is the main founder and fund manager of Helios Capital, a Singapore-based asset management company, managing both India dedicated (long only and long/short) and global long only funds and mandates. Prior to founding Helios in 2005, he was the head of Asian emerging markets and CIO – Indian equities at Alliance Capital Management, Singapore.
Samir’s philanthropic interests are in the areas of helping children, elderly, and the differently-abled. For two years in a row, he has been recognised as a ‘Leading Philanthropist’ by the Children’s Society, Singapore. He holds a BTech from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. He also holds a master’s degree in finance from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
