Sampurna holds an MA in English from Ashoka University. For her Master’s thesis, she looked at the representation of an apocalypse in two texts by the contemporary French writer Antoine Volodine, analyzing a divergence from the “presentist” frame of reading the apocalypse. Her interests span the environmental humanities; particularly the fungal turn in the humanities, speculative fiction, storytelling through climate and developmental data, critical infrastructure studies, and the sociology of agriculture. In her spare time shuttling between screens and the gym, she loves to curl up with an anime or a graphic novel. She draws the occasional cartoon.
