Samya is an avid bibliophile. A self-attested Sylvia-stan, and a very keen orator, she finds herself deeply fascinated by modern feminist discourse. While pursuing an undergraduate degree in history, she found herself drawn to student media and freelance journalism, a journey that fueled her passion for writing. This ‘power of the pen’ is what she hopes to master during her year at YIF. She also hopes to rediscover her love for the arts and humanities in a setting that builds bridges over barriers between disciplines. She also swears by caustic sarcasm, political satire, and dark humour. To her, knowledge is a lamp burning away into the night with no trepidation for the morning. This fading away of end goals in the face of an all-consuming hunger for knowledge is what she seeks at YIF.
