Sanchita Singh

YIF Class of 2021

B.A. English Literature
Banaras Hindu University

Sanchita is on a journey to know herself better. She likes going about life one moment at a time, taking in everything slowly, and finds happiness in observing and reflecting on the mundane and the banal. At heart, she is a minimalist; in sentiment, an artist. She grew up amidst the pristine mountains of Himachal, spent years in the holy city of Banaras, and recently moved to her hometown in Purnia, Bihar. The seed of her encounter with the Young India Fellowship (YIF) was sown when she sensed that her academic background in English Literature was a bridge into a world of self-awareness and knowledge, YIF being the gates of that world.

Sanchita is moved by art, stories, languages, cultures, mythology, and folk traditions. She finds nourishment for her spirit in nature. You might catch her surveying the patterns of the afternoon sun forms on the wall or inspecting how the morning light grazes the blade of a young leaf or following a line of black ants to see where they are headed. Don’t be concerned, join in!

Her agenda is a lifelong wonder.
