Seema Bansal joined The Boston Consulting Group in April 2000 and has been with BCG for 23+ years. She leads the firm’s Impact practice in Asia Pacific.
For the first 10 years of her time at BCG, Seema worked across sectors with a large focus on telecom and financial services. She was based in Mumbai. Over the last 13 years, Seema has pioneered the concept of Social Impact consulting not only within BCG but also for the country as a whole. Today she leads a team of ~15 senior leaders and 75 consultants working across a range of topics including education, skills, jobs, public health, agriculture, and philanthropy.
A majority of Seema’s own personal work has been with state governments including Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Jharkhand, MP, and Odisha. She has also worked with numerous foundations, development sector organizations and multilaterals like the World Bank. In the past, she has also worked with Niti Aayog.
Seema is deeply passionate about the intersection of education and social impact. She is currently a guest faculty at Ashoka University, and mentor/supporter for Plaksha University (Mohali) and Indian School of Development Management (Noida). Seema is a TED and a TEDx speaker. Her TED talk on education reforms has 1.5M views.
