Born and brought up in the city of Bangalore, sports/fitness has always played an integral role in Shashank’s life. From playing football for India at the International Children’s Games to presently pursuing a hobby of teaching yoga, being active has been an integral part of Shashank’s life. After pursuing a degree in Engineering in Information Science, Shashank decided to prepare for the civil services examination. Exposure to the varied subjects during his preparation introduced him to the vast disparities in his upbringing due to his privilege. He decided to apply for YIF to pursue his interests in history and international relations, to shift to a career that can have a more positive impact on society.
