Ph.D. in Geology, The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, USASidhartha Bhattacharyya is Research Infrastructure Manager at Ashoka University’s Research and Development Office. His core responsibilities include assisting faculty and departments with the installation, maintenance, and smooth operation of research facilities on the campus. Additionally, he provides support in tracking of all lab purchases, mediates individual/departmental/central requisitions, and liaisons with Project and Maintenance teams for equipment upkeep, lab safety, and comprehensive maintenance of research infrastructure.
Sidhartha holds a B.Sc. in Geology from Presidency College, Kolkata and an M.Sc. in Applied Geology fromthe Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He earned his PhD in Geology from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, USA. His doctoral research focus was to study the effects of natural weathering processes and artificial treatment techniques in the attenuation of toxic metals from coal ash.
Before joining Ashoka University, Siddhartha worked as Manager of the Geochemical Research Laboratory at The University of Alabama for 11 years. There, his role included overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of ICP/IC instruments used to analyze metals and inorganic anions in water, soil, rock, and biological samples.
