Assistant Professor of Psychology, Ashoka University

Ph.D. University of Cambridge

Sneha Shashidhara is a cognitive neuroscientist and behavioural scientist at Ashoka University, across the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences and the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC). She studies executive functions: how we plan, prioritise, and flexibly shift between subtasks to solve everyday problems. Her research combines fMRI studies of the brain’s multiple-demand (MD) network with behavioural investigations of attention, confidence, and decision-making. Another strand of her research focuses on social impact, in which she designs and tests interventions in education, including large-scale field experiments on foundational literacy and the roles of parents and teachers in children’s learning. She received her PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge’s MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit and an MSc in Neuroscience from the University of Göttingen’s International Max Planck Research School.
