Sonakshi is an avid reader, a student at heart and a lover of dogs and words. The everyday experience of female life and feminist interpretations of classics and epics are some of her favourite themes to read about. She also writes poetry that primarily revolves around mental well-being and gendered living as a way to make meaning of her emotions and experiences. Interdisciplinary studies in the social sciences and humanities, and debating have been integral to her academic experience thus far. Within Economics, she has developed interests and pursued research in household and feminist economics while at St. Stephen’s College. She is keen to explore feminist philosophy from literary and academic angles going forward.
