M.Phil. English, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha UniversitySonakshi previously graduated from the University of Delhi where she read English Literature. Her MPhil dissertation is on the biopolitics of ability and debility in contemporary fiction. Before joining Ashoka, she worked as an Educational Specialist at Educational Initiatives where she designed creative and inclusive pedagogy assessments (in English language and literature) for students from grades 3 to 12. Her words have appeared or are appearing in The Bilingual Window, OddMagazine, Potluck Zine, orangepeel mag, Hakara, Monograph Magazine, dishzine, and ESLA amongst others. She has thrice been the recipient of the national story writing competition, “MyStory” organized by TATA LitLive. She was one of the recipients of South Asia Speaks mentorship programme (2021), and is working on translating the Hindi novel, “Titli” into English. In 2021, she was one of the Tempus Public Foundation Fellows, and also made it to the shortlist of the Serendipity Arts Foundation FoodLab Residency. She is widely passionate about affect theory, food literatures, astromancy, posthumanism, zines, and animal studies.
