Sonakshi previously graduated from the University of Delhi where she read English Literature. Her MPhil dissertation was on the biopolitics of ability and debility in contemporary fiction. She holds a postgraduate diploma in translation and creative writing and serves as the Translation Editor for Usawa Literary Review, and as an educational arm assistant at Asymptote. Her writings have generously been supported by the Director’s Fellowship (Martha’s Vineyards Institute of Creative Writing), Diverse Voices Fellowship, and Alkazi Foundation for the Arts.
