Soumya is a small-town girl from Bhagalpur with big dreams. After graduating, she plunged into UPSC preparations. Unable to establish a firm footing in UPSC, she felt the Young India Fellowship was the best option for her, as it provided her with a platform where she could add to the knowledge she had acquired and at the same time, would help her launch her career.

Besides being an academically proficient student, she has been an active participant in extra and co-curricular activities. Madhubani paintings and Mandala Art are some of her favourites. You can see her Instagram account filled with paintings. She writes articles, mostly related to current happenings and keeps posting them on social media and also on platforms like Youth ki Awaz. One of her short stories will shortly appear in an anthology. Society, women and gender issues, and nuances of human life appeal to her.

She is friendly and full of life. Her friends love her puns and to the point sarcasm. She is diligent when it comes to finishing projects and you will never see her burning the midnight oil. She listens to Bollywood music. The TV show FRIENDS is close to her heart. She aspires to excel as a leader. She can be trusted with secrets and is a loyal friend. Automatic proofreading is her art. The Young India Fellowship will provide her the amazing hostel life experience, she always wished for. At the same time, a great platform to kick start her career and make friends for life.
