YIF Class of 2021
B.A. EconomicsWhy? And Meta-Why? These are the two questions that Tanay has asked at every static frame of a non-linear life. The answers to these questions enabled him to drop his initial parochial pursuit of engineering after high school and matriculate into the humanities. Studying Economics led him to realise that most social sciences are essentially meta-analyses of first order constructs of behaviour. His questions again were instrumental in this epiphany. Towards this end, Tanay has a profound interest in understanding behaviour as he views it as the most proximal operationalisation that is within the limited comprehension of humans. He employs this philosophy in every research endeavour that he has undertaken. To avoid stagnation of his dynamic cognitive positions and limits, Tanay joined the Young India Fellowship (YIF). He views YIF as an ideal platform to encounter contrarian belief structures and transcend the being that is himself. In that pursuit, he hopes to make some tangible changes for his proxemics and himself, given the current state of the world. In his spare time, Tanay enjoys reading non-fiction, eclectic Chinese and Indian philosophy and academic commentaries on YouTube.
