Tanvi Chowdhury

Ph.D. in English, Batch of 2021, Ashoka University

Research Area: Digital Humanities and Reading Histories

Tanvi studies the complicated interrelations between readership, book histories, and digital spaces. She has worked on textual practices in Austen’s work, fanfiction and fannish reading. She has also worked on the reader and the child reader in the work of Maria Edgeworth, Enid Blyton and J. K. Rowling’s with a special interest in decolonial receptions. She attempts to look at literature through registers of affect and emotion while also keeping in mind the histories of discourse that frames them. When she’s not working on her research, she makes attempts to write creatively as well.
