Uneet’s story starts from a village near Aligarh. Born to a farmer and an Anganwadi Worker, he did his primary schooling in the village and then moved to Aligarh for his secondary schooling. He filed his first RTI with the village headman at the age of 17. He later filed different RTI’s with the government. This exposed him to the flaws as well as strengths of the grassroots administrative machinery. This learning would later transmute into an aspiration to become a civil servant.
He graduated in Electrical Engineering from Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology Gorakhpur. While being at college he involved himself in student affairs both in the capacity of a student leader as well as a participant. He was part of the college’s placement cell, robotics club and IEEE society. He has volunteered for Child Rights and You or CRY. He has also co-founded an online portal called Vipaksh.
The Young India Fellowship for him is an agency of intellectual liberation. It fills a long-existing void of non-STEM subjects in his academic profile. He harbours a special interest for Qawwalis. He writes short poems in Hindi of different genres. He has begun to explore Astrophysics and how it overlaps with spirituality.
