Ved Dutt Arya’s research interests lie at the intersection of theory and praxis of adaptation. Ved works primarily in the areas of Shakespeare and Adaptation Studies. He’s interested in questions of author and authorship, and the role of the adapter and his/her creative process within the context of Shakespearean adaptations in India. His other research interests include Theatre and Performance Studies, Postcolonial Theory, and Film History and Theory. Ved is also a theatre practitioner and has adapted Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and As You Like It among other plays.
