Wasif holds a bachelor’s degree in Arts, from University of Jammu (2015) and master’s degree in Indian Medieval History from Centre for Historical Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (2017). His current research interest lies in the late nineteenth and twentieth century, focussing on the memory and identity formation of pastoralist communities in and around North-Western India. He joined the History Department at Ashoka University as a potential PhD candidate in 2019. He has also worked on the merchant trading networks of the 18th-19th century Central Asia. He is a competitive rugby player and a motoring enthusiast.
