Ziaa has over 25 years of professional experience, of which 18 years were in the Corporate sector before transitioning to the Development sector in 2014 where she started and led HDFC Ltd’s philanthropic arm viz, the H T Parekh Foundation. The Foundation is the primary CSR implementing arm for HDFC Ltd working across India, with cumulative social investments of approximately US$ 175 million to date. The Foundation supports organisations under core focus areas within Education and Healthcare, with a secondary focus on thematic investments under Environment and Disability sectors.
Ziaa started her career in 1995 with KPMG India, where she joined their Mumbai office for her articleship training. She worked for close to 10 years with KPMG across the Assurance and Corporate Finance Advisory divisions, with a focus on Audit for the Financial Institutions Group & Investment Banking Advisory for companies in the Financial Services and Oil sectors. She subsequently moved to the Corporate Banking division of ICICI bank and BNP Paribas India, overseeing and managing the credit requirements of mid-sized to large corporates based in Mumbai and Pune. She joined the HDFC Group in 2006 heading the Investor Relations team in HDFC Property Fund, a US$ 1.10 billion Fund, India’s first domestic real estate Fund started by HDFC Limited. She spent 6 years with HDFC Property Fund, building and developing relationships with both domestic & international investors who were part of the fund.
Ziaa is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and a graduate of Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai.
