RA Events – Dorm Olympics, The Great Ashokan Weekend, Coffee and More…!
Campus events organized by Resident Assistants
Dorm Olympics
The Dorm Olympics, initiated by the RA Programme, marks the first major event of its kind. It began in 2016 with the hope of building the feeling of togetherness and community in a fully residential campus. Additionally, it promotes healthy competition through a variety of games, activities, and stalls over a two-day period.
Notable events include Donut Eating, Panipuri Eating, and Slow Cycling. The event concludes with a formal closing ceremony held on the final day, where various clubs, societies, and students are invited to present their showcases and performances. During this ceremony, winners are honored with gift hampers and medals.

The Great Ashokan Weekend
The Great Ashokan Weekend (TGAW) was initiated with the purpose of facilitating student interaction with staff and faculty in a fun and informal setting. Each event is designed as a walk-through of the campus moving between key landmarks on the premises.
Some of the events organised as part of the Great Ashokan Weekend include Pitch Please, Ashoka Family Feud, Fantasy Mess Menu, Pajama Dance Dazel.

Coffee and More…!
Coffee and More…! aims to create a private, safe space for conversations where students can freely engage with issues and challenges, they face in their everyday lives. By inviting faculty, staff and experts, the series aims to demystify and destigmatize subjects, allowing for open, free-flowing conversations. The aim is twofold- one of creating opportunities for an empathetic listening and awareness; other enabling students in dealing with real life challenges and situations towards making an informed choice.

Care & Share Series
This is an inaugural campaign run by the dedicated team of RAs entailing a series of events and workshops that encourages the residents to extend care for others while ensuring their own well-being. This entire campaign aims to host multiple calming exercises throughout, like Mindful Crafting Workshop, Mandala Workshop, Bracelet Making, ‘Mindfulness Walks, Gym Buddy to mention a few.
Designed especially for the emotionally demanding mid-to-end semester period, the campaign is a reminder that care on campus does not always have to be loud or large-scale. Sometimes, it is found in shared memories, familiar comforts, and everyday acts of warmth.

Time Out & Candid Coffee Conversations
Post RA training and the move-in, RAs organise a mega event for all the fresher students on the evening before the start of the orientation week. This mega event brings all the fresher student together at different spots across campus with multiple events and activities including but not limited to – Art & Design room, Karaoke, Dance room, Pictionary and many more team bonding exercises. These events ensure that all the students mingle with each other and navigate and get familiar different campus spaces. It culminates with the ‘Candid Coffee Conversations’, a casual gathering at floor levels led by the RAs of the floors with an hour long fruitful conversation involving the introduction of all the floor members to each other and an ice breaker activity.

ACWB X AURA
In collaboration with Ashoka Centre for Well‑Being, Ashoka University Resident Assistant Programme (AURA) hosted Celebrating Small Wins, a gentle, reflective event designed to pause and acknowledge everyday victories that often go unnoticed. Students were invited to paint, write, and create freely using colours, posters, and shared art supplies, expressing moments of personal pride, resilience, and growth. In another collaboration, ACWB and AURA organised a therapeutic art session centred around a suspended pendulum-painting technique. Paint bottles were hung above a large canvas, allowing participants to set them in motion and create flowing, organic patterns together.

Housekeeping Team X AURA
Ashoka Apna Parivaar is a heartfelt celebration of the university’s support staff, Didis and Bhaiyas whose labour sustains campus life every day. Organised in collaboration with Residence Life, the event involves games, food, music and a graffiti wall filled with messages of gratitude created an atmosphere of warmth and mutual appreciation.
Students and staff interacted freely, reinforcing the idea that a university community is strongest when every member feels valued and recognised.

Flash Mob
To generate excitement and promote the flagship mega event, ‘Dorm Olympics,’ organised by the entire team of RAs, a flash mob is performed during the week leading up to the event, at the mess lawns. This coordinated and rehearsed dance performance requires significant preparation, with the team dedicating 10 minutes at the end of each weekly meeting for practice. This activity not only provides a platform for team members to interact and relieve stress but also serves as a valuable learning experience.
