This course is an in-depth introduction to the foundations of finance with an emphasis on applications. The course uses Excel extensively to make the experience more hands-on and help learners understand the concepts more directly. The course begins with concepts and applications like time value of money and risk-return trade-offs and then progresses to valuation. The course will cover in detail the valuation of various asset classes, like bonds and equities. Topics such as capital structure, dividend payout policy, and risk management using derivatives will also be covered.
