The sustainable use of water is one of the biggest challenges the Indian subcontinent will face in coming decades. Across India, groundwater tables are falling to dangerously low levels, our rivers and water bodies are polluted, and our vulnerabilities to extreme water-driven disasters such as floods (e.g. Mumbai 2005, Uttarakhand 2013 and Kerala 2018) is increasing.

The sustainable use of water intersects climate change, agriculture, politics, pollution, displacement and migration, but also much more. We need more interdisciplinary conversations around water, conversations that connect education, activism, science and sustainable choices.
